Discover Typical Belgium Dishes at De Taloorkes

'De Taloorkes' (Flemish dialect for 'The Plates') is a cozy restaurant serving typical Belgian dishes. The menu is written on a big blackbord and there is lots to choose from: from pasta's and steaks to vegetarian dishes to fish specials. De Taloorkes also has 10 dishes of the day like 'Filled paprika with a tomato-celery sauce' or 'Salad with chicken, apple and balsamic'. All these dishes are served with either French fries or Belgian mash and they set you back €8 (+- $10).

The interior is simple, but attractive and you can look right into the kitchen from your table to see the chefs cook up your meal. De Taloorkes also has a terrace where you can enjoy your food on a nice summer evening.

A Menu full of Traditional Belgian food at De Kleine Post

Located in the heart of Antwerp, this is an excellent place to end your day in Antwerp. 'De Kleine Post' literally means 'The Small Post' and it needs to be said... this really is a small restaurant! There are only about 10 tables but this makes De Kleine Post very cozy. The restaurant's interior is characterized by the use of wood and small tables. Beware when going to the toilet though, it's a steep staircase!

When opening the menu, you will be surprised and you'll probably not know what to choose... There is a lot on offer here! Try out the traditional Belgian dishes like mussels or stew soaked in a sauce of Belgian beer with French fries. Also on the menu are rabbit and vol-au-vent.

Enjoy Belgian Dishes at Den Hannekesnest in cozy Antwerp

Fancy eating Belgian food at a real Belgian café? Then make sure to head over to Den Hannekesnest! You can drink a pint at their bar or eat your typical Belgian dish at one of the tables. Choose from dishes like 'Codling in a sauce of celery' or 'Mash of the day with sausages or bacon'. Other options are chicken, vol-au-vent and stew. If you have children, ask for the children's menu.

The atmosphere here is really nice! Odds are that you won't find a lot of tourists here and this gives you the opportunity to get acquainted with Belgian people up close. Oh and when you're eating, you'll hear jazz, blues and 70's - 80's music coming out of the speakers!
